Lovesac Loves Us Back
My family tends to be fiercely loyal to companies that express how much they care about children with autism. After all, our son has autism. One time when our son was young we went into a Napa auto parts store to buy him a toy Napa truck. I remember those toy trucks from my own childhood and I wanted to get him one. Unfortunately, we found out they don’t really sell them anymore. Nonetheless a salesman went into the back and came out with a brand new, large, metal, high-quality, Napa 18-wheeler toy semi truck. Our son was enamored with it! And frankly, so was I. When I asked how much it cost, the store gave it to us free! Since then we’ve been serious fans of Napa Auto Parts.
Fast forward to 2018. My sister, who lives in Roseville, noticed the Lovesac company had a promotion online: Share the Comfort. My sister is a fan of Lovesac and had just purchased from them. For each limited-edition Share the Comfort Sac that was purchased, they were donating one to a family living with autism. She told me about it, urging me to pursue it but I’m generally pessimistic about promotions like that so I brushed her off. I did nothing. Little did I know, my sister pursued it… and then she put it out of her mind.
Earlier in the year I had tried to acquire my sister’s old Lovesac. It’s sorta like a bean bag chair, but not like those 70’s things that contained little white balls that came out all over the house. Her Lovesac was high-quality and comfortable. I thought a Lovesac would be perfect for my son and he needed a chair of some sort in his room. And by my estimation a Lovesac would be great for virtually any kiddo with a developmental disability or even for typical kids. These things are great! My son tends to bounce up and down a lot and I’m concerned he might wear out the springs in his bed. Well, we couldn’t get my sister’s Lovesac. I was bummed.
Fast forward again! We forgot about the Lovesac. We couldn’t afford to buy one. They aren’t inexpensive. But, in January 2019 a new Lovesac Citysac arrived on my sister’s doorstep for my son. Are you kidding me?!?!
As of the end of March the Citysac is still at my sister’s house. But before long my son will have it. I’m guessing he’s gonna love it. I think Lovesac is onto something with this product.
